Reduction Group
The reduction group has been active since 2007, but in a very reduced way. Jörn J. Burmester met with Janne Saarakkala and Joy Harder during various activities of the @work network of which they all were members until 2011. Agreeing that everything is just a bit much, they decided to think about reduced performances. Although they tend to take things lightly, they do believe that almost everything needs to be reduced, if there should be any hope for this world.
Over the years, they produced four or five reduced performance, most of which were so short that hardly anyone noticed them.
Japanese Living
In February of 2012 the group spent a week together in Berlin. Most of the images were taken by Anja Ibsch during a work in progress showing of results at Performer Stammtisch.
The first two images of the gallery below are stills from a series of videos the group produced during this week. The video art project "Japanese Living" was published on the Reduction Group's Youtube Channel.
The reduction group, obviously, does not have a website. But more content might be added here as we go along.
